Gail Spaien honors every day through her practice of making paintings. The domestic and natural spaces she depicts invite us into a conversation about the significance of the beauty of daily life. Home is central to her work both visually and spiritually. For the artist, the activity of painting is an ordinary act, one that is fully embedded in her daily life. Spaien chooses to locate her studio inside of her home so that she can easily avail herself of her domestic life.
